It's a GIRL!!!

So Dave, Dexton, and I went to get my ultrasound on Friday.  I asked Dexton all week what the baby was and he kept saying it was a girl, but then as soon as we got in the room he said it was a boy.  Dave and I thought it was a girl just because this pregnancy has been so....different.  I feel amazing and that is NOT usual.  When she told us it was a girl I almost started to cry I was so excited!  Not that I wouldn't have wanted a boy but since Dave and I got married we always wanted a little girl.  Dexton still says it's a boy, maybe he knows something we don't eek.

A while back when I was 12 weeks along we were at Disneyland and we had a scare.  I thought I was having a miscarriage.  We panicked, left the park and called our Doctor immediately.  He told us that it was probably just because of all the walking, but there so way too much blood.  I just knew it was a miscarriage.  We went in as soon as we got home that week and there was a heart beat!  Hew!!!  He wanted to take an ultra sound just to make sure everything was ok and there it was... another sack (I think that's what it was).  I was going to have TWINS!!!  Around 8 weeks the other one had passed.  It was such a bitter sweet feeling.  I was sad but so happy that there was a baby still alive.  I never knew this but this is VERY COMMON!!!  They say that a lot of women don't even know it happened to them until they go in.  I am so blessed, I feel so very lucky to have my Dexton and now my little girl.  I feel so fortunate and so grateful!  I love Dave and Dexton so much and feel like I am the luckiest girl in the world!!!

What Team Are You On???

Definatly on TEAM EDWARD!!!
Though not a HUGE fan of Twilight but I like it enough to watch them when they get to the $1 Theatre.
A girl called me wanting to make her some Twilight cupcakes for her Eclipse Party.  Usually I don't post my cupcakes but because I know so many of you are Twilight fans and today is the opening day of Eclipse I thought it would be fun to ASK...
WHAT TEAM ARE YOU ON?
TEAM JACOB?
or
TEAM EDWARD?

Can you make me some spaghetti?

So wasn't feeling the greatest a while back so I asked Dave if he could make us some spaghetti.  Well Dave never cooks, he really has no clue how, though he does so much other stuff including DEEP CLEANING the house atleast once a week.  Ok he's a little ocd about a clean house, but who's complaining :)  But anyways I told him step by step what to do and one of the steps was to cut the onions.  Well they were killing his eyes so he got his ski goggles and put them on and finished dinner.  He said it really helped.  I could not stop laughing and had to take a picture!  Thanks Dave for the delicious Spaghetti!

I want to be like Daddy!

Dexasaurus turns 3!!!

We got Dexton this scooter for his birthday. Not sure if he will ride it but he seemed excited. Hasn't played with it once yet, he's been too busy with his other birthday gifts.
I placed it in the front room with balloons so when he came out he would find it. Dave said "it's not Christmas" but I love peeking through the door and watching him. It's so cute!

Some of the boys that were at Dextons party.
Got these cute dinosaur hats from the Dollar store. Loved them!!!
"Dinosaur Egg Hunt"
Got some plastic eggs and put these small caplets into each egg for the boys to find.

After they found the eggs they cracked them open and placed the caplets into warm water.
These are what the caplets look like and in a few minutes they grow into...
REAL DINOSAURS!!!
Ok small, tiny spongy dinosaurs. The kids were amused for a minute :)
My little sis helping Dexton with his dinosaurs.

"Duck, duck, DINOSAUR!"
Ok, I kinda just made this up. I didn't know what you should say before Dinosaur. It worked.

"Dinosaur Hunt"
I buried toy dinosaurs all over the play ground for the boys to dig and find.

Happy Birthday Dear Dexton Happy Birthday to YOU!!!

Dexton was so excited to blow out the candle. He was talking about it for days!
!
Present Time!

The food Display
"Dino Dogs"
Pretty explanatory :)
"Dinosaur Melon Head"
Cut this watermelon into a dinosaur head and stuffed it with pieced of watermelon. Really easy! The eyes are made out of fondant and food coloring and everything else is part of the water melon touched with food coloring. This was a hit.
"Swamp Jello"
Made lime jello into individual cups. While setting up placed some rock candy into the bottom. They started to dissolve and made them look moldy/swampy plus some of them the rocks did not dissolve so it looked like there were rocks in the bottom. When the jello was almost set up I then place gummy dinosaurs which I found at Macey's into the almost set up jello. The day of topped them with whip cream and placed another gummy dinosaur on top. The kids loved these!

"Dino Eggs"
I made these hard boiled eggs, let them cool then cracked them all over and soaked them in koolaid over night. They turned out exactly how I pictured them :)

Dextons Birthday Cupcake cake tower I made him.
His wording exactly "Oh my gosh, I love it!"
Made me so happy!
Made the cake with fondant and frosting. Placed toy dinosaurs and decorations on top. Making grass and a river out of frosting. Decorated the cupcakes with the toy dinosaurs and chocolate dinosaur eggs. Decorated my cupcake stand which I use for Cravings with dinosaur themed paper I purchased at Roberts. I was so happy with the results. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the dinosaur cookies I made behind the cupcakes. If you look real close you can see them.

Dexton's invitations!

And I just put this little note on the back of the invite.

Some things I forgot to take pictures of. I hate when I do that!!!
  1. Made Lava Juice (Red punch)
  2. Tyrannosaurus Dip with Fossil Fries
    (Dip with Chips)
  3. Dinosaur Rocks (Rock Candy)
  4. These cute cute signs I made, one saying "Happy Bday Dex" and the other one saying "DEXASAURUS"
  5. The "Goodie Bags" Which I put each of the boys name on the bag with saurus on the end so Parkers bag had "Parkersaurus" on it. Put cute little dinosaur foot prints on the bag. Then in the good bag I put in a dinosaur puzzle, paint book, dinosaur egg with a toy, and dinosaur eggs. I wish I would have remembered to take a picture :( They were cute.
Though I loved planning this party, Dexton absolutly loved it, it was so much work. Dave says next year we are just going somewhere like Chucky Cheeses. I don't know we'll see :) But poor Dave and my two sisters Angie and McKenzie, they were my slaves that day. They helped me so much. Thanks you guys and thanks for everyone that came to celebrate Dextons 3rd birthday!!!

Another Birthday Party!

Musical Chairs

Dexton loves going to birthday parties, but this one was a little confusing and I thought it would be. My friend from Chili's little girl's 3rd birthday is a couple days from Dextons. Well Dexton had his birthday party yesterday and went to Kloe's party today. He still thought it was his birthday so when Kloe was opening up her gifts he wanted to know where his was and when we sang her happy birthday he thought we were singing to him and he attempted to blow out the candles. It was funny but sad. He had a blast at the party. They played on a slip 'n slide, played with water balloons, had a pinata, a bounce house, and of course ate cupcakes. He had fun, we love birthday parties!

Andy's 2nd Birthday!

Our good friends Alex and Tava's little boy turned 2 last month. They had his birthday party at Thanksgiving Point. We went to the "farm" there for the party. They played games in the barn, got to feed the animals, went on a pony ride and a hay ride. All the kids loved it and Dexton had a ball. Happy Birthday Andy!!!
Some of the kids at the party going on a hay ride.
Dexton and the birthday boy checking out the animals.
One of the games, find the candy in the hay.
The kids waiting anxiously for the pony ride.
Dexton has been begging us to ride a horse. He absolutely went crazy (good) he loved it. I only wish it was longer :(

Ward Luau

Our ward had a luau so I got this old shirt out of the closet for Dexton to wear for the party. It was a little small but it did the job. I thought Dexton and Dave looked so cute together.

Another attempt...

Another attempt to potty train Dexton... this time I tried something I saw on Dr. Phil. He can only wear underwear, drink a lot of sugary drinks and lots of salty treats to make him thirsty. I do the same with a stuffed animal and pretend his animal has to go potty so every few min. Everytime his animal goes potty on the toilet we have a big party and give him treats! 1st two days went good besides Dexton pooping all over my floor because I caught him so he ran with poop coming out of his butt. He loved to pee standing up hitting cereal but as soon as Dave came home it all went down the drain. He refuses to wear underwear and ONLY wants to wear his diaper. I have a ton of treats and prizes for him sitting in our bathroom counter. He points at them and says "sword if I go poopy?" I tell him yes but he doesn't care. Oh well he will eventually do it...won't he???

Snow Canyon

Dave heard about this "beach" from a friend, so we decided to drive down to see it. WOW it was amazing! Defiantly a to do every time we come down here!
I know I know were white/asian trash. We didn't bring Dextons swim suit and it was such a nice hot day and Dexton was begging us to play in the water. So we did it, stripped him down to his diaper. He loved it!

Dave took some vacation time because we were supposed to go on a cruise but it just didn't work out so we decided to head down to St. George and go camping for a couple days. It was awesome. Dexton loved camping, first time cooking his own hot dog and marshmallow. We had a blast from camping, to hiking, to just plain old relaxing. I love St. George!

A little friend that would visit us during dinner time.
