Viva Las Vegas!

Every year we just exchange cards and thats our gifts to each other. It's the best gift ever!
On the 24th Floor, Dave looking out at the view.
Our Fabulous Room
Getting ready with our 3D glasses to watch Avitar
Being silly and blowing bubbles in the hot tub :)

Chillin at the Hot Tub
The Pool
It was too cold to get into the pool so just feeling it out.
Our Hotel South Point

Doesn't Dave look so happy to be with these hotties. I made him go stand by them so I could get a picture.
Carrie Underwood and Rod Stewart impersonators with the show girls
Tim McGraw impersonator. He was by far the best and I really think he thought he was him.
Michael Jackson impersonator. They even had security around him, why I don't know.
"Tim McGraw" having the "Elvis" autograph a shirt for him.
On top of the stratosphere
Looking out at Vegas

We always have to fly stand by and we got lucky and got to sit in first class. Wahoo. Wasn't all that great for the whole hour :)
In first class you get a much larger arm rest...
Bigger seats that lean back further with your own blanket and pillow...
candy bars and chips instead of peanuts and pretzels...
real glassware instead of plastic. Oh the joy of 1st class :)

January 5th Dave and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary. Can you believe it, we've made it for 8 years! I am more in love with my Dave today then ever. He makes me so happy and does so much for our family. Each year we take turns on who plans our anniversary. It was my turn this year so I decided to go to Vegas. Dave planned 2 trips there this year for the BYU game and we didn't get to go to either so I thought he would like this. We stayed at the South Point Hotel. I got a great deal on it...for both nights it cost us a total of $56 but there was a catch that we did not realize...it was way pass the strip so we ended up having to rent a car for $60 but oh well we still liked it and the hotel was awesome. It was a new hotel, had a spa in it, an imax theatre, a huge bowling alley, pool, hot tub, a casino, and tons of 5 star restraunts. It was nice but a little far away. We gambled of course, I lost and Dave came out even. I hate gambling! Why do I do it!!! Anyways we watched Avitar at the IMAX which was freaking awesome!!! One of my favorite movies of all times and I really did not think I was going to like it at all. We also went to a show at the Stratosphere "American Superstars" which was pretty good. Worth the money. We paid $45 per person which included dinner buffet, tower tour of the stratosphere and the show. Just a tip: If you want to see a show down there don't buy your tickets a head of time. There are places all over that sale the day of 1/2 price tickets. We could have bought our tickets for $24 each, but we didn't know but we live and learn. The food wasn't so great but thats a buffet for you. We went hot tubbing which I loved!!! And of course shopping!!! It was a great anniversary, one of our best! I love you Dave, and thanks for making it 8 years with me :)

Christmas 2009

Eating our traditional Breakfast pizza that my mom makes every Christmas morning. Yummy!

Mom making us all breakfast.
Christmas 2009!
Dextons 3rd Christmas and Daves 1st Christmas off since 5 years!!!
We thought this was the year that Dexton actually understood what was happening. We woke up told him Santa came, ran out to see what Santa brought him, he looked at his stuff, then looked at all of his cousins stuff, wanted their stuff and wanted nothing to do with his own. We told him that was theirs and this was his, he looked at it and went down stairs to play with the old toys. Go figure. It was like pulling teeth to get him to come back to open presents but when he opened up his dinasour he was so excited and now wanted to play with his new toys.
Christmas was awesome this year. We haven't had our whole family together for atleast 6 years. Sheila, Dan and their boys drove out from Atlanta and Jenny, Steve, and their kids drove up from Texas. It was great seeing the whole family again and my mom and dad were so happy that we all could get together. Dexton loved playing with all of his cousins that he barely even knew.
That evening we went to Dave's families house and opened up more gifts and played games. I love Christmas, I love everything about it, I love that it brings families together to spend time with who we love the most!

Of course McKenzie got EVERYTHING she asked for on her Christmas List.
I got Dave a remote control airplane, helicopter, and car so he can play with it with Dexton.
One of Dextons favorite gifts from nana and papa, a dinosaur that makes noises and walks.
Auntie Angie got him a buzz. Dexton has never seen the movie but whenever he sees anything with toystory he yells out buzz. He only knows him from Disneyland lol. But Angie got him that and Mark (her boyfriend) got him buzz jammies for Christmas. Thanks guys!
Opening more presents!

I threw my very good friend Erin a baby shower.
Erin has been waiting 10 long years for this miracle. Erin and her husband Craig are not able to have children so they have been trying for years to try to adopt. They were were trying with LDS services but they weren't getting any luck. LDS is probably the cheapest way to go if possible. It only costs 10% of your income to adopt a child. They finally went with a different agency and got this beautiful baby boy Crosby Allen Wise which cost $23,000. (You might have seen this story on the news. He was the baby that was born in the airplane and had to land in Denver. Here's his story This topic is so hard for me because me, my twin, and my little sis are all adopted. When I found out that different races were cheaper then others it floored me. I couldn't believe that. Adoption is so wonderful and I am so happy for her! Congrats Erin and Craig! And Crosby you are so very lucky to have such wonderful parents.

The Gift of Life

I didn't give you the gift of life,
But in my heart I know.
The love I feel is deep and real,
As if it had been so.

For us to have each other
Is like a dream come true!
No, I didn't give you
The gift of life,
Life gave me the gift of you.
