Happy Birthday to my Besties!

I have the greatest friends in the world!  We celebrated my friend Tava and Stephanies birthday at the Cheesecake Factory.  Oh how I love that place, probably my favorite restaurant!  I always get the same thing the Navajo Sandwich, my fav!  I never get dessert, I'm just always too full and I like Cheesecake but I don't love it enough to pay $7 for it ha ha!

Rabbi Dexton

Dexton was in the office with this bowl on his head.  I couldn't stop laughing!  Kids are so funny!

Orange Chicken

I can't even remember the last time we went to Panda Express but I brought some Orange Chicken Home from Costco and he looked at the box and said he wanted it and ran to the drawers to find chopsticks.  Every time I eat Chinese I eat it with Chopsticks and he remembered ha ha!  I love it.  Well of course he didn't know how to use them so he just stabbed the chicken with one of the chopsticks and ate it.

Auntie Kenzie

My little sis McKenzie just loves Allie.  She is always wanting to come see her and hold her...maybe too much :)  She is an Allie hog lol.  When they come to visit us my mom and dad only get to hold her for a few minutes before McKenzie steals her back.  She loves babies and I'm so glad that Allie and Dexton have her as their Aunt!

Newborn Pictures and Dexton

I've been waiting to get Allie's newborn pictures done by Katie since I found out I was Pregnant.  She does such an awesome job and just has a different look then a lot of people do.  She wanted to video tape Allie to teach people how she poses babies to sit their chin on their hands so we got these pictures FREE!!!  Her cost usually $500!!!  I was so excited!  She is a good friend of ours.  Her brother is Dave's best friend.  We love her work and loved the pictures.  Thanks Katie!  peekaboo photos

Whats 4 dinner 2night?

So I have decided to start a food blog.  I love to cook and I was talking to my friend the other day and she was asking me what I make for dinners.  I know that me and many of you struggle what to make for dinner.  So many options but you just can't think of anything so cereal it is again.  Well now that I am home more I am cooking dinner at least 5 out of the 7 nights.  I love it.  I love to experiment and have Dave and Dexton be my guinea pigs :)  For the most part Dave usually likes everything.  I always have him rate everything I make from 1 to 10, 10 being the best.  If it's a 5 or less it means he probably would only want it once a year.  If it's an 8 or more he would eat it probably once or twice a month.  I love when he loves it.  I always serve it to him on a plate because I want him to get the full effect of the dinner.  If he plated the food himself he might not dish it the way I would like it to be dished ha ha.  I'm not his slave though :) I love doing it!  I know it's weird but I love to watch people eat my food good or bad.  I will NEVER take offense if someone doesn't like my dish.  Thats life.  I don't always like what I make either.  I try my hardest to cook healthy.  Whole grains, lean meats, turkey instead of ground beef, veggies, you get it.  But I also like to splurge and make yummy desserts and fattening food.  All in moderation huh ;) So I hope you will follow my blog and leave me comments about the food.  Let me know if you made it and how it turns out.  Also let me know if you blog about something you made and I will add it to my blog.  Like I said earlier I struggle too to decide whats 4 dinner 2night!!!

Allie and Dexton

Halloween Carnival

Dexton has never had cotton candy, I know I'm a bad parent :) He took one bite and spit it out.  I think he thought it was cotton lol.  It was funny, what kids don't like cotton candy?  And his friend Andy thought it was a balloon so he wouldn't eat his either.  It was funny.

My friend Alex works at a school that throws a Halloween Fundraiser Carnival every year.  I love to support it especially because the school is for disabled kids only.  They have great games for all the kids, cake walks, auctions and yummy food.  Dexton had a blast at this carnival, and I can't wait till next year!

Cupcake Car Seat Cover

Look at this awesome Cupcake Carseat Cover my friend made me!!!  Isn't absolutely adorable!!!  It is exactly what I wanted and she made it perfect.  It only cost $40!  Her name is Audrey Beaudin and she makes so many things for babies.  From head bands, to cute towels, to these car seat covers, and lots more!  Thanks Audrey it's perfect!!!

Best Halloween Yet!

Halloween was awesome this year!  By far the best one yet for Dexton.  He absolutely loved it!  He was going crazy.  Running door to door, screaming trick or treat.  I wish I would have brought my video camera, it was so funny to watch him this year.  Dexton was a doctor for Halloween.  Because being around the hospital so much he kept pretending to be a doctor so that's what he decided to be this year.
The night started out raining so we didn't think we were going to be able to go door to door.  We heard the mall was giving out candy so we decided to go there.  OMG it was so busy, insanely busy.  One of the picture shows a huge line.  It's for Seas Candy...one piece!  And most the stores said this...
so we decided to leave.  Thank goodness it stopped raining so we went to one of the neighborhoods close and took the kids there.  Tava, Alex, and their little shark Andy came with us.  Dexton and Andy had a blast!

So he didn't get that much candy, but it was a lot to him.  We only had an hour to trick or treat.  Dave's mom was watching Allie for us.  But this was perfect for Dexton.  He had a blast!  Oh I just love Halloween especially now with kids!  They make it so much better!!!

Happy Birthday to the Best Dad ever!

My dad is diabetic so for his birthday "cake" I got him these chocolate coconut macaroons from a health food store that are sugar free and I also got him a gift basket full of sugar free yummies.
On October 24, 1953 a great person was born...my dad!
I have the best dad ever and I am so fortunate that I was adopted by this great man.  I can't imagine what my life would be like if he wasn't my dad.  Everyone that meets my dad loves him.  He gets a long with everyone, maybe too well.  If you ever ask my dad a question plan on talking to him for at least 30 min.  He loves to explain everything.  Like his friend Fred tells me "Your dad knows everything about everything."  which he truly does and if he doesn't you bet he will find out for you.  My dad is one of the kindest, helpful, loving people I know.  In my entire life I have never once not seen him without him giving me at least 2 to 3 hugs and that might be in a 5 minute hello.  My dad is always helping everyone.  It doesn't matter who you are he is always willing to help you.  Not only is my dad the best dad he is also the best papa in the world.  All of the grand kids just love him to death.  They can't wait to see him and they can't wait to play with him, he is the big teddy bear in their eyes!  I could go on and on why my dad is the best!  I love you Dad and hope you have the best birthday ever!!!

One Month

Allie turned one month yesterday October 28th.
Today she had her one month check up and is doing phenomenal!

At one Month
  • she has gained weight from 5lbs 8oz to 7lbs 2oz
  • grown from 17 inches to 20 inches (but we're pretty sure they measured her wrong at birth)
  • she stays awake longer during the day
  • She can hold her head up strong
For a 34 weeker she is so strong.  Her doctor/my father n'law says she is doing amazing for being so early.  We are so lucky and blessed to have her.  It makes me so sad to see how much she has grown.  I really try hard to cherish every moment in Allie's and Dexton's life.  I don't want to look back one day and wish I did more while they were young.  I love you Allie, your my sweet little baby.

Dexton absolutely loves his little sister.  He has never once tried to hurt her.  He actually thought the other day I was sitting on her and panicked and yelled "Mom get off her, your hurting her!"  What a big brother.  He always is kissing her on the forehead and petting her feet (that's because we told him he could only touch her feet hee hee) He defiantly loves her and I know he will protect her from dirt bags one day :)

Happy Halloween!

How to irritate your waitress...

One of my old regulars posted this on her blog and I could not stop laughing.  Being a server for so many years I totally could relate to everything she said so I had to post it on my blog too.  For all of you that have worked as a server you can totally relate too.

How To Irritate Your Waitress. A List.

  1. Be teenagers.
  2. Be old.
  3. Be...well I better not say this one. It'll just get me in trouble.
  4. Tell me you're ready to order and then proceed to discuss every single thing on the menu with the person or people you're out to dinner with. (I understand people have questions about the menu. If you'd like to discuss the menu with ME, I'm more than willing to do this. I also don't mind coming back when you're REALLY ready to order.)
  5. Tell me you don't want anything to drink. Just water. (Since when is water not something to drink?)
  6. Try to talk to me from your table while I'm talking to another table. (Really, this one shouldn't even have to go on the list but...you'd be surprised.)
  7. We print a menu for a reason. Please don't try to play swippy-swappy with all the side dishes and this's and that's. (Actually, this one doesn't apply to me since I work at Outback. We have a "no rules approach" so we'll totally hook you up with pretty much whatever you want and we really will do it willingly and I can pretty much guarantee you won't pay extra or at least not too much. Yeah, Outback's that cool.)
  8. If you don't want dessert, it's really OK. Really. You don't need to apologize. I mostly ask because they tell me too.
  9. When the first thing you order is silverware, that's annoying. You don't even have any food on your table. Settle down. I promise I won't make you eat your steak with your hands.
  10. If you change your mind on what you'd like to eat, that's totally fine. But could you please wait til I've finished talking to the person I'm currently talking to? (Really, didn't we learn this in, like, 8th grade or something?)
  11. If you change your mind again, it really is OK. After all, you want to get your money's worth!
  12. Don't have a conversation with me that starts with "so what if we couldn't pay?"
  13. Sitting in my section that only consists of three tables to begin with for FOUR HOURS will seriously irritate me. I understand you work together and, therefore, don't get to see each other Every. Single. Day. but when you're my first table of my shift and you're still there when I get cut at the end of my shift, that's just rude. At least tip me well to somewhat compensate.
  14. Obviously, I'm gonna have to talk about tipping. This part is more of a survey. How many of you go out to eat with a pretty good idea of how you're gonna tip? Regardless of service. Obviously, really bad service is going to get less of a tip. But I really believe that unless I leave your drinks completely empty all night, you're gonna tip me the same no matter what.
  15. And speaking of tips. Verbal tips don't feed my children. Yes, I LOVE to hear, "you were so great! Thank you so much! You're the best waitress we've ever had!!! Here's your 5% tip!" but I make $2.13 an hour. Which pays my taxes. So...y'know.
  16. Stiffing me is obviously going to irritate me/make me hope you wrap your car around a tree on the way home, causing your airbag to go off and therefore make you puke up your entire dinner. If you can't afford to eat out, go to McDonald's.
  17. Please don't try to get free stuff. If your meal really wasn't good, that's one thing. But when you eat everything except one tiny bite and I then tell me it was no good...that's lame.
  18. What's the deal with not wanting ice in your drinks? So many people are doing this lately! Am I missing something???

Carving Pumpkins

I haven't carved a pumpkin since I was a kid so I wanted to carve a pumpkin this year with Dexton.  I invited some of my friends over and we ate soup with bread bowls and yummy pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.  Of course I didn't get any pictures of me, Dave, or Dexton carving a pumpkin but I have another one that we want to carve so hopefully I can remember to take one then.  It was so much fun, I love getting together with our friends.  Our annual Halloween party is tomorrow and I'm very sad to say that we won't be able to make it this year because of Allie.  Oh well though, Dave actually hates Halloween.  I have to drag him to the party every year ha ha!  He's the scrooge of Halloween lol.

Bread Bowls

I'm having some friends over tomorrow to carve pumpkins and eat soup out of bread bowls.  I thought what the heck I am going to attempt to make "Home made" Bread bowls.  Well they didn't turn out so well, they came out to be 1/2 the size of a regular bread bowl and kinda went flat after going in the oven.  So I am going to go to Costco today and buy Rhodes Rolls and make them from them.  Semi-home made :) better then nothing.

BLAH!

Mr. Clean Mr. Clean

So I am probably going to be blogging about a lot of random things for a while.  Allie's doctor said she can't leave the house for 2 months or even more when winter finally hits.  So while Dave flies Sunday through Wednesday I am stuck inside my house trying to think what can I do productive while home.  Don't get me wrong I absolutly love being home with Dexton and Allie, but I'm just not used to being home ALL DAY LONG.  I'm not going to lie either when I say I LOVE TO WORK.  Do I love working at Chilis being a server, NO, but Chilis has treated me well and I love the interaction I get with people.  All you stay at home moms know what I mean when I say it seems like the only communication I am getting right now is with Dexton and Allie.  I really really need a GNO!!!  Or an ANO aka ADULTS night out lol.
But anyways back to the reason of this blog...I have discovered something amazing, something that has SERIOUSLY changed my life, what is it you ask Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.  I bet most of you if not all of you have already discovered this wonderful product but not me.  I have been on my hands and knees for years scrubbing and scrubbing my tubs till my arms are killing me.  I still never could get the bath tub as clean as I would like it...till now!  I didn't even have to scrub hard, it just magically disappeares with the touch of the eraser!  So if you have never used one of these go out today and buy yourself one.
Happy Cleaning!  Alisha

p.s. If you know a way to clean mirrors without it making smears please share.  I use Windex and paper towels and always have smears on my mirrors.

Welcome to this world Allie!

My sister Jenny, McKenzie, and my mom
 Dave's mom
Dexton has been so good with Allie.  He just loves her so much.  So far he hasn't tried to hurt her.  He likes to hold her and kiss her.  He is such a good big brother.  We're so lucky to have such sweet kids!

Dave didn't hold Allie till she was 3 or 4 days old.  He hated all the cords and didn't want to hurt her.  It's so funny how different he is already with Allie and Dexton.  With Allie he is way more protective.  She is his little princess.

8 days in the NICU, finally going home, but not before the car seat check.

Look how small she is laying next to Dave.  They grow up so fast :(
